Shopping and Lunch with Jill and George

We started the day with George and Jill at the Hallmark store in San Marcos.

While they shopped I shot the surroundings like these Palm trees.

I even did my favorite shot - up the tree from the trunk.

Then I spotted some Bird of Paradise plants.

Strelitzia (Bird of Paradise) is a genus of five species of perennial plants, native to South Africa. The genus is named after the duchy of Mecklenburg-Strelitz, birthplace of Queen Charlotte of the United Kingdom. The common name of the genus is bird of paradise flower, because of a supposed resemblance of its flowers to the bird of paradise. In South Africa it is commonly known as a crane flower.

I took shots from several angles...

... this shot is my favorite.

After a quick stop at Walmart we headed to Fish House Veracruz ...

...and as Jill shows we were "Welcome aboard."

Just inside the carved door ...

... was the fresh fish on display.

After being seated we read the Captain's Rules

Rule # 1 The Captain is always right
and
Rule # 2 If the Captain is wrong, see Rule #1

There was also several aquariums inside like this one at the bar with the little yellow guy and ...

... this beautiful black and white fish.

There were also fish etvhed into several of the windows.

These etched fish were elegantly displayed...

... in translucent beauty. This one was next to our table.

There were lobster colored ceiling fans kept the aroma of grilling seafood lightly spread throughout the dining area.

Even the outside gate had fish...

... as did the porch rafter beam carved on the end to resemble a fish.

They had some nice plantings in the patio area...

...as well as some nice brick work ...

... and a cool red overhead light. Oh and, by the way, the food was fabulous.
