June 24 2014 in Garibaldi

The day started out a little foggy...
...with a little action at the Coast Guard with divers...
... and some young people in orange...

... then they all got on a Coast Guard boat and headed out.
Later when the sun was out we found some photogenic Brown Pelicans...
... hanging out on some pilings...
 ...and bay platforms...
 ...enjoying the sunshine...
 ...flapping their wings...
 ...posing...
...and looking regal as only Pelicans can do.
Garibaldi is a working seaport with a lot of commercial and non-commercial crabbing...
...and lots of fishing boats like the Anne Marie.
Garibaldi is also a railroad town that gives Steam Engine rides and has many collected Railroad Engines and cars...
...and a huge tower no longer used for anything other than a landmark
... but put them together and you have the leaning tower of Garibaldi and a Tillamook Bay Dairy Cow Train
We did see this little bird we thought might be a Horned Lark but I suspect is is something else...
 ... with a pretty song...
... and a smile.

Quote of the Day ~ "How often do we realize the Coast Guard is a service that spends 99.9% of the time saving lives and protecting the country" ~ Anon
