Coos Bay to Charleston and Along the Cape Arago Hwy

We met up with Mr. and Mrs C&S Railroad on the morning of the fourth of July for some breakfast and a scenic drive. No not on a bike, not in the Musemobile, not even in the Mini-musemobile but in the little "Little Engine that Could." (Our friend's Toyota mini-van complete with Talking GPS how cool)

We landed in Charleston at the docks to find the fishing vessel "Footloose" in for the day.

Since Albacore Tuna were running (until they got caught) we purchased some to grill later at home. This man and his wife had a good price and the tuna was very fresh off the knife.

Our C&S friends enjoyed the view on the docks.

Now for a commercial break check out those purple Birkenstocks Mrs. Railroad was sporting. They are too cool and comfortable to boot mmmm make that comfortable sandal.

Meanwhile I looked for unusually weird images.

There was an irony in the "Sea Basket" sea food basket located on Guano Rock Lane.

We finally made it to Sunset Bay and some people there took this shot of the Four Amigos.

At the end of these rocks, on the right of the inlet, if you squint really hard you can see a fisherman.

I was looking closer at the white bee on this wildflower.

The Coquille Lighthouse is always a beautiful sight and often photographed.

Then there are the rocks at Shore Acres State Park on the Pacific Ocean - majestic!

Mr. Railroad looked over this beautiful sight while the uprooted tree on the background looked on.

The round objects on this rock are not small they must be five feet across or more.

On another rock projection black rocks on the tan sand look like seals resting in the sun.

I liked the image of a little tree growing on a larger stump with the sculpted rock in the background.

Moss grows on everything in Oregon so don't stop for long.

Red cousins of the Tiger Lily I took a picture of for an earlier blog entry.

What color !!

... simple and beautiful

Lily pads of the Shore Acres Japanese Water Garden

Pink flower blooms my camera zooms...

The Red Twins floating ...

Then a Calla Lily looking like milk flowing over a mini-corn

A graceful pond shore flower

What are these flower other than colorful...?

The meeting house at Shore Acres hiding behind some Red Hot Pokers

Scrabble Score Scrabble Queen won probably by a lot but I'm sorry I didn't get the score

Quote of the Day -
“A man who has never gone to school may steal from a freight car; but if he has a university education, he may steal the whole railroad.” ~ Theodore Roosevelt quotes (American 26th US President (1901-09), 1858-1919)
