Lake Sutherland and Salt Creek Rec Area

Lake Sutherland and our Campground is in the hills across the way so we drove over for a look...
...and it looks a lot like our friend's lake home in New Hampshire (kind of)...
... with pretty water...
and a guardian knot.
We then ventured west to a place called Tongue Point  on the Juan De Fuca Strait (as seen below)...
...where I went to the tip of the tongue (no pun intended)...
... and got this picture of a sea gull colony ...
.... literally on the tip of that tongue.
To the west was a small island...
with Pigeon Guillemot swimming all around...
...and some people on the far shore.
There was seaweed floating all around ...
.... Rocky beaches...
...and Kayak folks coming to shore...
There were a few ducks...
but lots of Seagulls on a feeding frenzy
while the waves rolled in like soft glass.
Nearby was the town of Joyce, WA with an often mentioned General Store ...
... and a log Library that was once a train station.
