Lake Sutherland and our Campground is in the hills across the way so we drove over for a look...
...and it looks a lot like our friend's lake home in New Hampshire (kind of)...
... with pretty water...
and a guardian knot.
We then ventured west to a place called Tongue Point on the Juan De Fuca Strait (as seen below)...
...where I went to the tip of the tongue (no pun intended)...
... and got this picture of a sea gull colony ...
.... literally on the tip of that tongue.
To the west was a small island...
with Pigeon Guillemot swimming all around...
There was seaweed floating all around ...
.... Rocky beaches...
...and Kayak folks coming to shore...
There were a few ducks...
but lots of Seagulls on a feeding frenzy
while the waves rolled in like soft glass.
Nearby was the town of Joyce, WA with an often mentioned General Store ...
... and a log Library that was once a train station.
