Florence April 15, 2012 - Tax Day

Tax Day is a day later this year since it is a Sunday so we took a drive to the coast. Stopping on the way, at a roadside park, I got a shot of a really intricately colored moth...

... ... then on we went through the woods...

 ... into a tunnel...

... and along the river with private boat docks...

... until we reached Florence and some of the beautiful Rhododendrons in white...

 ... and a beautiful red.

At Mo's seafood I got this picture of a stunning daisy looking flower I just love the colors.

After lunch we drove up the coast and took Baker Beach Road and along the way saw a wetland area filled with blooming Skunk Cabbage...

 ...and some withering pussy willows...

and this great looking tree that I have no idea what it is - yet.

I liked this house we could see from across the wet marshy area...

... but I liked even more seeing horses and riders from the horse camp on Highway 101.
There were plenty of riders and it would be really cool to ride this part of the United States and go along the beach on horseback.

We next drove west on Sutton Beach Road and found several of the trees were broken and lots of broken limbs. It has been like this all over coastal Oregon from both high winds and a very wet, heavy snow form several days ago.

Our last stop was the beach at the end of Shoreline Drive where we saw several people enjoying a cool but not too cool Sunday outing...

Yup, that's Sharyn with the red sleeves and black vest walking back along the trail.

I took my now infamous Artsy shot of a fence on the hill...

... and finally caught a lady bug kite fighting with an Angry Bird - help they are everywhere but the little girl (lady bug) and the boy (angry bird) were having a great time on the beach.
