On the road again

The Musemobile was ready to go ... almost. After a battery jump to get her rolling our ever faithful Winnebago (Still looking for a sponsor for a cross country trip ~Hint~ from WINNEBAGO [stock symbol WGO]) Sightseer.

So here we are at Coos Bay looking out at the ever present sand bar buoy in the middle of the bay.

Still waiting for the boardwalk to replace the old docks at the old mill location.

This looks like a water fight with two guys on one side and zero guys on the other.

There is the north end of the casino taken from our RV site.

Then there was a fire on the hill across the bay and I was too lazy to get out of the Musemobile to take this picture. I think it was probably just a burn pile (they do that in Oregon in the counties.

By far the most interesting thing we saw was this guy who appeared to be walking on water.

It looked like he had a broom and was sweeping up.

On closer inspection with the binoculars we saw that he was on a surfboard and had a long handled oar. Weird huh! But very interesting.

It wasn't quite a full moon and I took this hand held (no tripod) but it came out OK for an amateur blogger.

Oh did I mention there were shadows. For the non-Oregonians this is a rarity during an Oregon Winter. It's nice being back out if only for three days.

“I'm still a kid. I'm like six years old. But it's just a matter of wanting to get up, it's just a big journey. I felt like when I left home that I was on a journey, and I still am.” ~ Heath Ledger (April 4, 1979 – January 22, 2008) was an Academy Award-nominated Australian actor. He starred in both critical and financial successes, including Ten Things I Hate about You, The Patriot, Monster's Ball, A Knight's Tale and Brokeback Mountain. He was only six months older than my youngest son. Rest in peace Heath and complete the journey with that wonderful smile.
