8/28/2014 Baker Cty. Oregon and Hagerman, Idaho

I almost missed posting these photos from Oregon's Painted Hills...
... it is a very special place many visitors and some residents to Oregon never see ...

... yet is is one of the most spectacular places in the state.

It is well worth the visit and part of many great spots along with the John Day Fossil beds

Another special place In Eastern Oregon is Baker City with historic and interesting things to see.
I like this advertising mural as an example of historic art...
...along with new art in the galleries...
... carriage rides down the main drag...
 ... more great art ...
... and more historic modes of travel.
A great place to stay or dine in Baker City is the Geiser Grand Hotel first opened in 1889...
... and still beautiful inside and out.
We next stayed at Hagerman RV Village located on US-30 at the West end of Hagerman, ID. It's a beautifully landscaped park - very quiet and with great accommodations.
