June 3rd - From Laramie east

We started the day by going to the Ivinson House which houses the Laramie Plains Museum.

It was 9am and unfortunatly it was closed (opened at 1pm) and we didn't have time to hang out half a day. So we walked the grounds and I took some pictures. While the Musemoblie sat on the atreet in front of the Museum

The most fascinating thing other than the house itself was a statue dedicated to the "First Ladies of Laramie"

We left town (not run out on a rail), hit the Walmart for supplies and headed east on Interstate 80. We stopped for fuel and to clean the windshield at a Pilot service station where Scrabble Queen did some investigative reporting on a very unusual cargo loaded on a truck at the station.

It turns out the horses are also headed east to a PF Chang's Restraunt in Chicago. It made my mouth water thinking of Crispy Honey Shrimp one of my favorite meals in Manhattan Beach, CA when I worked on a project in the Los Angeles area.

Fueled up we again headed east into Nebraska. We got a quick picture as we drove by the "Howling Cayote" landscape art perched on a hill next to the road.

When what to our wandering eyes did appear but a billboard real big and Cabelas was near. Cabelas is an outfitting store with really cool stuff for the sportsman and while it's not really what we do, the outdoorsy atmosphere is great. It makes a person think they can rough it and survive on about $50,000 worth of hunting and fishing gear and clothes Robert Redford probably wears. The interior of the store was tastefully decorated with stuffed (and I mean Taxidermy stuffed) animal carcasses and loped off heads.

The nice thing was that the fishes were alive. It must be a catch and release fishing place.

We ended up in North Platte, Nebraska at the Holiday RV Park. It's a nice place with great Wireless Internet (WiFi) and it's near the Buffalo Bill Ranch which we may visit tomorrow.

Final Score at Scrabble: Scrabble Queen 377 - The Contender 361
